SYDNEY Australia — Hugh Jackman said Wednesday that he is heartbroken his new film, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” was leaked online a month before its official release.
The movie, which focuses on the beginnings of Marvel superhero Wolverine, is not scheduled for release in the U.S. until May 1, but a work print of the film began appearing online as a torrent some time last week. 20th Century Fox said the FBI and Motion Picture Association of America were investigating and promised to prosecute those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.
“It’s a serious crime and there’s no doubt it’s also quite disappointing — I was heartbroken by it,” Jackman said. “People are seeing an unfinished film. It’s like a Ferrari without a paint job.”
The Australian born actor, in Sydney to unveil 20 mins of completed footage of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” to around 600 fans. Although clearly upset about the leak but Mr. Jackman does still thinks Marvel fans across the global will still flock to see the movie in theaters this spring/summer.
Mr. Jackman, being on his world tour promoting the movie. Making Cockatoo Island his 1st stop in Sydney Harbor. Thus where much of the movie was shot at. His arrival at the venue was by helicopter as he swooped in to the ground on a zipline ala X-men style. What a way to make an entrance.
Yet another cool movie incomplete released to the net because some dillhole thought it would be fun to shareit before the actual theatrical release. I will refrian from my own personal viewpoits on this save for the fact that something like that, does ruin it for others.
